The author, Kim Da-eun, opened a cupcake specialty shop in the Ewha (Ihwa) area of Seoul after graduating and operated it for eight years. Seeking to deepen her pastry skills, she later moved to France to study at Bellouet Conseil. After gaining knowledge and experience there, she returned to Korea and founded the baking studio L'ecole Caku.
